ABOUT RUTHY I am from Jakarta, Indonesia and came to SF in 1997 to study, and never gone back to Indonesia ever since(apparently someone stole my heart:-)) Currently I am working as Assistant Controller for hotel in San Francisco. I love to sing that's why I join St. Cecilia Church Choir and also Indonesian Church Choir. ABOUT DIDI He is from Jakarta, Indonesia too. He came to San Francisco in 1992, he got his Bachelor Degree from SFSU. And he is currently working as a trader in downtown San Francisco. He loves to cook and he has just began his new hobby, oil painting. HOW WE MET We met through our mutual friends in 1999. I lived with roommates at that time, and Didi is my roommates friend. He asked for my phone number, we talked, went on first date and we've been together ever since. WHEN WE GOT ENGAGED October 12, 2002 HOW IT HAPPENED It was on my birthday. We always want to be the first person to wish Happy Birthday, so at 00.00 on October 12'02 (we were in our bedroom) he wished me Happy Birthday and we exchanged kisses, shortly after that he went outside the room, and came back again with a tray full of flowers, a bottle of champagne and a plate decorated with rose petals with a small box in the middle. He put the tray in the bed, opened the champagne and told me how I always be there for him, always support him and always make him happy, and he wanted to do the same for me, then he was on his knee and asked me to marry him. Of course I said "Yes!" That was the best birthday gift ever.
