My first Half Marathon - San Jose Rock and Roll
YAY! my first half marathon in San Jose.
I now can proudly say I'm a half marathon finisher - a pathetic one.
I was running so slow the 1st 7 miles due to sharp pain on my right knee.
Then the last 6.1 miles I was barely even able to walk. I can't even bend my right knee when I walked; so all the burden was to my left leg.
I can feel the pain on the left leg and also blisters on my left toes.
Even some of the walkers approached me and asked if I needed medical help and I said NO! - and told them I had to finish the race.
They said actually I didn't have to finish it, I can call the medical team and they gave me a ride to the finish line.
But I'm not a quiter so I told myself; I have to finish the race.
And sure was; 4 hours and 10 minutes later...after passed the 13th miles mark and maybe 30 feets before the finish line I forced my self to at least ran slowly.
I just wanted to make sure the photographer captured me when I was at least some kind of fake running.
But - hey I walked pass the finish line. And YES - I'm a half marathon finisher (still pathetic one)
13.1 miles = 21 km.
We stayed at the Saint Claire Hotel in downtown San Jose, a sister company hotel. I got back to the hotel and checked out afterwards.
